Nutrition for Weight Loss - What you NEED to know

Posted by Alan Basinger on

There are many important factors in achieving your weight loss goals, nutrition for weight loss being one of the most important. Most people who are trying to lose weight do some things right.  On the other hand, many people who are trying to lose weight do some things wrong, and one of the biggest mistakes is forgetting all about nutrition.

Some Diets are too Restrictive

Certainly, issues such as exercise routines, cutting out soda, skipping the late night snack, and even calorie restriction can help with weight loss, and these methods have varying degrees of success for many people.  Unfortunately, many people attempt to lose weight, cut calories, or restrict food, and may lose sight of what the body really needs – nutrients. A big reason that fad diets don’t work is that they are often too restrictive and limit the follower to too few calories, portions that are too small, or severely limited types of food.  The follower may get bored, hungry, or even sick if the diet is followed too long.  This is because many diets pay little attention to nutrient content of the foods they advise.

One of the Most Important Factors of Weight Loss

In order for a weight loss plan to be successful over a long period of time, it has to contain the right levels of nutrients.  Your body needs carbohydrates, protein and even some fats to function properly.  You also need daily amounts of vitamins and minerals – and you can’t just skip out on any of those things, at least not for very long. If you are missing carbohydrates, you may begin to crave sugar.  If you are missing minerals, you may begin to crave salty, fatty foods and none of these cravings will be good for your weight loss plan.  One of the good things about the Medi-Health program is that we aren’t a fad diet – and we did pay attention to nutritional needs when we created our food.

Real Food with Real Nutrition

In addition to the food being “real food” that looks, smells and tastes great – it is also nutritionally balanced to provide you with a day’s supply of the nutrients you need – every day.  When we set out to design our program, we went for the best, and to us the best means:
  •             Great taste
  •             Appealing appearance
  •             Terrific texture
  •             Outstanding smell
  •             Wide variety
  •            Best nutrition
By best nutrition, we certainly mean that it has all of the balanced nutrients you need to keep your body processes running normally but we also mean that our food makes it easy for you to get that nutrition.  If you don’t like the food – you won’t eat it.  If you don’t eat it, you will either starve or eat something else and we don’t want you to do either. We designed our food to be satisfying, convenient, and healthy – and this includes all the nutrition for weight loss!   http://www.weightandwellness.com/resources/articles-and-videos/weight-management-metabolism/the-secret-to-weight-loss-good-nutrition/
